On the Quest for BIPOC Women's Freedom by way of Empowerment!

As a BIPOC woman navigating a white male-dominated business world, Vada lives and breathes her nonprofit's mission. The need for such an organization is evident from the statistics that show the challenges faced by women of color in small business ownership.

According to a report by the National Women's Business Council, women of color represent 39% of the total female population in the United States but own only 18% of women-owned businesses. They also receive less funding and have less access to resources than their white counterparts.

Vada Cruse's journey to founding The Baroness Consortium has been anything but easy. As a Justice Involved woman, Vada faced additional hurdles in piecing her life together with limited resources. The struggles faced by Justice Involved BIPOC women is also significant, with a report by The Sentencing Project revealing that women of color are disproportionately impacted by the criminal justice system and face numerous barriers to reentry.

Despite these challenges, Vada has persevered and has a wealth of experience in various careers. However, her mastery of the business world comes naturally to her. As she puts it, "I've learned a lot in the many different careers I've held, but the things that come naturally are my understanding of business, my willingness to pivot, and my courage to speak my mind."

In addition to her work with The Baroness Consortium, Vada is also the CEO of VADA Cruse Virtual COO, where she provides fractional Chief Operating Officer services to small women-led businesses. With her expertise in business and passion for empowering women, Vada is an invaluable resource for these businesses.

Vada draws inspiration from the words of Oprah Winfrey, who once said, "The biggest adventure you can ever take is to live the life of your dreams." Despite facing numerous adversities in life and business, Vada is not only living the life of her dreams but has also dedicated her life to empowering other BIPOC women to achieve their dreams.
